Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

On August 23, 2023 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Kari McWilliams conducted an unannounced POC visit to clear deficiency's that were cited during the annual inspection on July 20, 2023. LPA McWilliams met with Licensee Alyssa Ceballos and informed her of the reason for the inspection. LPA McWilliams toured the facility inside and out and a census was taken. LPA McWilliams toured each classroom and observed each classroom to have new paint and new rugs and the bookshelves that had peeling laminate were re-laminated and in good condition. All chairs were cleaned and in good repair as well as all baskets that held toys were in good condition. LPA McWilliams observed that the bathrooms were clean and the unused toilet paper holders were removed. LPA McWilliams observed the outdoor play area to be free of hazards; the play structure has been re-stained and the swings have been replaced. The ladder was re-screwed into the structure and there are no screws sticking out in the rest of the structure. LPA McWilliams observed that there is enough tanbark to provide padding under the play structure. LPA McWilliams observed that the wrapping on the poles that were starting to fray and unravel were redone and no longer present a safety concern. LPA McWilliams observed that the toys that were broken were removed and replaced with new plastic kitchen/houses. LPA McWilliams also observed that the fencing along the side that separates the toddler play area has been repainted and is in good repair. Licensee provided the agenda for the staff training held on August 15, 2023 that went over the ratio regulations for each class, toddlers and preschool age children. Licensee also provided that sign in sheet as well as individual statements from staff that they understood the information provided in the training. LPA observed that there were no safety concerns for children in care during today's inspection and was able to clear all deficiency's. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Licensee Alyssa Ceballos. Appeal rights were provided. Per Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 1, of the California Code of Regulations, no deficiencies are cited. This report shall be made available to the public upon request.
