What the inspector wrote

On 05/28/2025 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Anita Tristan conducted a case management inspection. The purpose of the case management inspection was to address a complaint investigation dated 05/27/2025. LPA met with Director, Alyssa Ceballo. LPA and toured the facility, inside and outside and a census was taken. During the course of the complaint investigation LPA interviewed Staff #1 to determine if meals are provided to children in care and Staff #1 stated that only snacks were provided. Further interviews conducted with other staff as well as observations made by LPA indicated that lunch was provided for children in addition to snacks, and the children have the option to either bring their own lunch from home or be provided with lunch at the center. Staff #1 stated that lunch is only provided to about 4-5 children per class who may forget to bring food from home. Today LPA observed more than 20 children being provided with lunch. Staff #1 was advised not to make any misleading statements regarding the child care center or the services provided by the center. Per California Code of Regulations, Title 22, Division 12, a Type B deficiency is to be cited. Exit interview conducted with Director, Alyssa Ceballo. Plan Of Correction/Appeal Rights were given and discussed. A Notice of Site Visit was provided and will be posted for 30 days. This report shall be made available to the public upon request.

Based on LPA observation and interviews conducted Staff #1 provided misleading statements regarding the child care center or the services provided by the center. This poses a potential health, safety and or personal rights risk to persons in care.

    Food Services- (a) In child care centers providing meals to children, the following shall apply: (1) All food shall be safe and of the quality and in the quantity necessary to meet the needs of the children...This requirement was not met by: Based on LPA observation staff are not providing the appropriate serving size to mee the necessary needs of the children in care. This is a potential risk to the health, safety or personal rights of children in care

    Food Services- (a) In child care centers providing meals to children, the following shall apply: (6) Menus shall be in writing and shall be posted at least one week in advance in an area accessible for review by the child's authorized representative....This requirement was not met by: Based on LPA observation and interviews conducted menus are not posted in an area that can be reviewed by the children’s authorized representative. This is a potential risk to the health, safety or personal rights of children in care
