    BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS

    The child care center shall be clean, safe, sanitary and in good repair at all times to ensure the safety and well-being of children, employees and visitors. This requirement is not met as evidenced by, based on observation. LPA observed that the side fence of the play area is tilting towards the play area, which is unsafe for children in care.

    All outdoor and indoor passageways, stairways, inclines, ramps, open porches and other areas of potential hazard shall be kept free of obstruction. This requirement is not met as evidenced by, based on observation. LPA observed a shed in the back play area which is sitting on blocks and has an opening on the bottom of the shed which children are able to crawl underneath, which is unsafe for children in care.

  • RESPONSIBILITY FOR PROVIDING CARE AND SUPERVISION

    (a) The licensee shall provide care and supervision as necessary to meet the children's needs.(1) No child(ren) shall be left without the supervision of a teacher at any time, except as specified in Sections 101216.2(e)(1) and 101230(c)(1). Supervision shall include visual observation. This requirement was not met as evidenced by:Based on interview and record review, a staff turned around and bent over to cover the sandbox, and one of the children standing beside her scratched the other child standing beside her. The teacher did not observe the incident occur, which poses a potential health and safety risk to children in care.
