Quick start: send welcome messages
Go to your Child Roster
Navigate to Attendance > Child Roster from the sidebar. You will see an amber banner at the top if any parents haven’t been welcomed yet:

Preview the message (optional)
Tap Preview Message to see exactly what parents will receive. A modal shows two tabs:
- Email tab — The full email with QR instructions and your facility name
- SMS tab — The text message (for parents without email)
Send welcome to all
Tap Send Welcome to All. You will see a loading spinner while messages are sent, then a confirmation: “Welcome sent to 5 parents.”
- Parents with an email address receive the welcome email
- Parents with only a phone number receive an SMS instead
- Parents with neither are skipped (add contact info in the roster first)
Checking welcome status
After sending, each parent’s welcome status appears as a badge next to their name in the roster.| Badge | Meaning |

What parents receive
- “Sunshine Daycare has set up digital sign-in for Emma”
- “Sunshine Daycare has set up digital sign-in for Emma and family” (multiple children)
Text message
Parents without email get a short SMS:“[Facility Name] now uses ReadyRule for sign-in/out. Just scan the QR code at drop-off — no app needed. Reply STOP to opt out.”

Check their email address in the roster for typos. Next to each parent’s name, you will see resend buttons — an SMS icon to resend the text message and an email icon to resend the email. Each button is rate-limited to 3 sends per parent per 24 hours.

Yes. When you change a parent’s phone or email, their welcome status automatically resets to “Not sent” for that channel. Use the resend button to send to their updated contact.

Not yet. The message is standardized to ensure parents get clear, consistent instructions. Your facility name and child’s name are automatically included.

Those parents don’t have email or phone on file. Edit their contact info in the child roster, then resend.
