The child roster page is where you manage enrolled children and their authorized guardians. You can add children individually, link guardians with pickup permissions, and import your entire roster from a CSV file. Child roster management page

Quick start

1

Open the child roster

Navigate to Child Roster in the sidebar.
2

Add a child

Click Add Child and enter the child’s name, age group, and date of birth. Add their primary contact (parent or guardian) with phone number and relationship.
3

Link additional guardians

Select a child to view their profile, then add more authorized adults. Set sign-in and sign-out permissions for each guardian.

Adding children

When you add a child, you also create their primary contact in one step. ReadyRule:
  1. Creates the authorized adult first (validates phone number)
  2. Creates the child record
  3. Links the adult to the child with default permissions
You can add additional guardians after the child is created. Each guardian can have separate sign-in and sign-out permissions and an optional expiration date.

CSV import

For bulk enrollment, use the Import Roster button to upload a CSV file. Three import types are supported:
TypeWhat it imports
RosterChildren with up to two parents each
ChildrenChildren only (no parent links)
AdultsAuthorized adults only
The import skips duplicates automatically based on matching names and contact info.

Editing and removing

  • Edit a child — click a child’s name to update their details or age group
  • Remove a child — sets the child’s enrollment status to inactive (soft delete)
  • Edit a guardian — update name, phone, email, or relationship
  • Unlink a guardian — remove a guardian’s authorization for a specific child
Every child must have at least one linked guardian. You cannot unlink the last remaining guardian from a child.
Print a sign-in QR code for parents from the Settings page. A tip banner on the roster page links directly there.

Troubleshooting

Verify your CSV columns match the expected format. Phone numbers must be valid US numbers. The import reports how many records were imported and how many were skipped.
If a guardian’s phone or email is already in the system, ReadyRule links the existing record instead of creating a duplicate. This is expected behavior.
